After earning an undergraduate degree in physics and mathematics from the University of Waterloo, Minh worked as a software engineer for over a decade before obtaining his medical degree. His longstanding interest in medicine, combined with a strong desire to help others, has driven his commitment to the study of human biomechanics and ultimately led him to pursue a career in chiropody. Drawing on his medical training, expertise in biomechanics, and firm belief that patient education is an integral part of effective treatment, Minh takes the time to clearly explain clients’ medical conditions in order to provide high-quality foot care.
In addition to his clinical practice, Minh applies his interdisciplinary background in physics, mathematics, computer engineering, medicine, and biomechanics to the development of a gait analysis system—an idea he conceived while studying at the Michener Institute—intended to address the limitations and subjectivity of traditional Root biomechanics.
Currently, Minh works with Fontbonne Ministries, delivering foot care services to precariously housed and low-income populations across the Greater Toronto Area. Through his work with marginalized communities, he has developed a novel technique for the treatment of painful foot corns, as well as both topical and advanced treatments for fungal nail infections. These innovations arose directly from the needs of the populations he serves, with a focus on maintaining affordability. Minh’s work reflects his ongoing commitment to improving access to effective, compassionate foot care within the community.
